For information on scholarships for graduating seniors attending Marine Corps Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps high schools, please contact your Senior Marine Instructor at your high school. The scholarships applications for college classes beginning in the fall of 2024 are now available.

For donors seeking official information about the trust reported to the Internal Revenue Service, you are invited to examine the official IRS Form 990EZ filed annually. Follow the instructions below to the IRS site.

Note: The IRS changed the name of the trust shown back to the original name of the trust. The trust was not notified of this unauthorized change by the IRS. The IRS has been informed of their error and a request has submitted to correct the error.

Step 1: Click on the link IRS Tax Exempt Organization Search to display the following IRS page:



Step 2: Enter 46-7247920 in the Search Term box, then click on the blue Search button to display the following:



Note: The wrong name will be displayed, but ignore this and click on the NEW Educaton Trust in step 3. Step 3: Click on the link to the Marine Corps Reserve Association Education Trust.
Note: This link will take you to a page that indicates:
1. That the trust has received a favorable Determination Letter,
2. That the trust is listed on the Publication 78 Data List which means that contributions are tax deductible,and
3. That Copies of Returns (990, 990-EZ, 990-PF, 990-T) have been filed and are availabe for examination.



Step 4: To see the IRS letter of determination, click on the link to see the original letter of determination issued to the trust. Note The name of the trust was changed from NEW Education Trust to its present name with permission from the IRS.
To see a copy of a Form 990EZ on file with the IRS, click on the link for the tax year you wish to examine. For example if you click on Tax Year 2018 Form 990EZ the following expanded view will appear.
