The Education Trust is pleased to announce the availability of eleven (11) scholarships for the Class of 2027. Scholarship are tuition only awards. The funds will be sent directly to the college/university selected by the student. Recipients will need to provide proper address and student account number to send the funds. If selected you will also be asked to provide a head and shoulders photograph suitable for display on the Marine Corps Reserve Association Education Trust web site.

Applications must be submitted on line. Detailed instructions on how to submit an application for a scholarship are provided along with the application form which you must request from the Chairman of the Board at LPM.USMC@gmail.com.

Prospective applicants should take note of the eligibility rules.

To be eligible for consideration, you must be:

  1) a United States citizen;
  2) unmarried without dependents and not pregnant;
  3) have good moral character;
  4) at least 16 years old and not more than 23;
  5) in the top 25% of the graduating class;
  6) a graduating senior from a MCJROTC High School with a minimum Unweighted GPA of 3.5.

Note: These scholarships carry no obligation to join the military.

Things to think about as you prepare to apply for the scholarship:

You will be required to submit a hand written (not typed) essay of not more than 250 words expressing your career goals, your view on personal integrity, and your view on the meaning of loyalty.

You will be required to obtain letters of recommendation; one each from an English teacher, a mathematics teacher, a science teacher, an adult outside of school who has known you for three or more years and who is not your relative. A letter of recommendation from either your high school principle or high school counselor must also be included. The letters of recommendation should be sent to LPM.USMC@gmail.com by the respective authors.

Your high school registrar must send a copy of your high school transcript to LPM.USMC@gmail.com.

You will need to submit an full length photograph in uniform.

If you meet the eligibility rules listed above and wish to apply for a scholarship, send an e-mail to LPM.USMC@gmail.com, the Chairman of the Selection Committee, requesting the application fill-in form along with detailed instructions for completing the application. The application fill-in form is a PDF document in Adobe Acrobat Reader format. Fill in the blanks on the form to provide the information requested.

Your application must be completed fully and must be received no later than 5:00 PM CDT on Friday, March 12, 2027 for you to be eligible for consideration. No late applications will be accepted, so please ask any questions regarding the application process well before the due date to avoid any delay.

Note: Scholarship funds will be sent to the institution you have indicated and may be used for tuition only.
